Olivia Here. Kevin and I are still fighting our health issues together. As many of you know, Kevin had his kidney transplant on 11/1/22. It was one year on11/1/2024. Since that time, he has had multiple hospitalizations for issues related to his transplant. Most recently, he was in the hospital over Labor Day Weekend for dehydration and his immune system was compromised. In June, he acquired a rare virus called CMV. He was hospitalized for 5 days. Medication interactions and side effects have been horrible on his body. He misses work alot from these reactions. His employer has been amazing accommodating his illness and he works hard, but he is out of PT as well as vacation days. I was off of work from 6/20/2024 to 8/15/2024 after having a total hysterectomy. This surgery was a necessity due to multiple uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and some other gynecological issues. I was cleared to work with restrictions, but these restrictions were not honored by my employer, so I was on disability for the last 8 weeks. It pays very little and we barely got by. Between my health issues as well as Kevin's struggle with his new kidney, we have exhausted all of our time off, vacation pay, disability insurance, and other means of earned income. We need some help getting thru these next few weeks.Neither of us qualifies for any food or rental assistance because of our incomes. Our credit cards are almost maxed out, and we have to keep the lights on. There is no assistance for people like us who have to work with our health issues and disability doesn't even cover rent. All your prayers and everyday support have gotten us thru what has been an incredible fight for both of us. Thank You for everything.
