Skagway Climate Project is a group of Skagway School students studying the effects of Climate Change on low-lying countries in the Pacific and in Alaska and developing a project based on their findings. Students are funding to travel to the Marshall Islands, and Kiribati. During travel students will meet with politicians, scientists, and climate activists to discuss climate impacts on Pacific Island countries, climate solutions, alternatives energy solution to fossil fuels, and listen to stories by local inhabitants. Students will also have to keep a daily blog/vlog discussing their travels and what they learned that day. After travel, students will host a Climate Conference in Skagway where they present they projects and invited guest speakers. We would like to raise $10,000 for travel by February, 2016.
