Hi. My name is Adrianne Washington. I’m a 33-year-old native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a single mom, and generally a self-sufficient person. Through no fault of my own, I was in a life-altering accident, and now I am humbly appealing to the community at large for help. On September 19, 2024, I was caught in the middle of a high-speed police chase, hit broadside by a convicted felon as he drove at excessive speed through a residential intersection to evade police. A passenger in the felon’s car was killed instantly, and my boyfriend and I were critically injured. I suffered a C5 fracture in my neck, compression fractures on my spine, ACL and MCL tears in my left leg, and a broken right ankle. My vehicle was totaled. I simply want to return to a normal life, raising my daughter and working as a private caregiver. I love what I do! Unfortunately, my injuries have forced me to take an extended leave of absence from work. I used to regularly work 74 hours per week, but now I cannot work at all. With no income and no disability, medical bills are piling up, and I am behind on basic living expenses. After nearly a year and many inquiries, I have not been able to get assistance through legal or government channels. There are days I hit rock bottom and want to give up, but I have to keep going for my daughter, who is a high-school senior this year. Thanks to anyone who can contribute. Every one of you is much appreciated.
