Ok, ya'll.  I hesitated doing this because it makes me uncomfortable..how selfish!  Jesus never cared about what was "comfortable".  He loved the poor with everything He had and calls us to do the same with our whole hearts and lives.  So, here goes.. :)  As many of you know, Paul is now an associate pastor at Riverside Baptist Church.  A few months ago, a single mom was walking down the street with her 4 kids when a friend of ours invited them to church.  They came and have been such a huge part of our church family every since.  Paul and I have gotten to know this family pretty well over the past couple of months, but it wasn't until the last two weeks that we really realized how much this family was hurting and in need. When they moved here from Kansas City a few months ago, they had NOTHING except their truck.  After arrival, the engine on the truck blew up leaving them without a vehicle.  The mother searched relentlessly every day for a job and finally found one about two-three months after they arrived.  However, we never once knew how bad they were struggling because this family was so faithful to attend church and always joyful.  Her kids are so beautiful inside and out.  I have her two boys in children's church every Sunday, and they are always striving to help the other kids in the class.  They are so hungry to know more and more about Jesus and are always SO eager to repeat back to me the stories they do learn.  One of these sweet boys was saved at VBS a couple of months ago, and I have REALLY seen a change in him and his heart.  God is at work in him and in this family.     The mom works very hard to provide food on the table, childcare for her children, and a roof over their heads.  We have sat down with her and looked over her budget, and we know that she is capable of paying rent and bills now that she has a job here.  Unfortunately, she started the job being behind on her bills so she has some catching up to do.  The apartment complex is about to evict her and her family if they don't receive the back payment TOMORROW.  I know this is a lot and the time is short, but yall, God is SO much bigger.  I have walked through their apartment, and I promise you they do NOT live above their means.  They have absolutely NO furniture in their home.  They have no couch, no beds, no dressers, and absolutely nothing.  They have few clothes that are stacked on their bedroom floors or in bags.  The kids are so appreciative of the smallest things (crafts made at church, bread and peanut butter for sandwiches, snacks, etc).  This family deserves help.  They are the sweetest family.  The mother is very selfless, as well as smart.  She has an associates degree in being a medical assistant, but no one in Fort Worth (a larger city) wants to hire her with no experience.  Please, please give to this family and help them get back on their feet if you are able.  Jesus loves them and He calls us to love them as well.  Regardless of if you can give or not, please please commit to praying for this family.  They have been through a lot this week.  The kids are upset and hopeless.  Please pray for God's provision, direction, and comfort for this family.  "'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"  Matthew 25:40
