On July 4th Shon Perez was tragically struck by a vehicle resulting in multiple life-threatening injuries. The critical injuries included severed arteries and internal bleeding, pelvic trauma, dislocated shoulder, and a broken ankle. Shon received emergency treatment which included multiple blood transfusions, intubation, and pelvic internal and external fixation surgery at Parkland Hospital. Post-trauma care, Shon was in the intensive care unit for 7 days. By the grace of God, Shon was stabilized and was able to transfer to a step-down unit where he continues to receive wound care and rehabilitation. His acute injuries will require ongoing therapy and immediate changes to his family's living arrangements. Additionally, Shon has limited medical coverage in his line of profession as an independent fitness instructor which has created financial hardship. We are hoping that family and friends will come together in a time of need to assist the Perez family with their unexpected traumatic experience. All assistance will be for the direct care of both Shon and his family. No amount is too little, and the family sincerely appreciates all consideration to assist. With Love, Jeremy, and Perez Family
