UPDATE- Jan 2024 - Mom is doing much better health wise but is struggling to find a full time job with health benefits. She is now working 3 part time jobs trying to make ends meet. The stress isn’t good for her. She is still not 100% back on her feet fighting exhaustion from the cancer related meds and bills are still looming and still needs help. Hi, I’m Sarah and I’m helping my mom with this and this is her cancer story. ”I was diagnosed in February 2024, I have been battling Breast Cancer now for 18 months. I have survived 2 major surgeries (one this year and one last year), including mastectomy, reconstruction, radiation, as well as the side effects, and extreme fatigue, a side effect of treatments and medications. Thankfully, the surgery and treatment has been successful, but it has left me with overwhelming medical bills and expenses that are now biggest threat to my recovery. I was let go from my job after my first surgery, so I increased my private lessons volume, but it hasn’t been full time. I have kept things going through treatment but with the medical bills coming in, some of the regular expenses are impacted too. Being a single woman, I have continued to work through treatment, with no choice really, taking the bare minimum time off after both surgeries and working through radiation. While insurance covers about 95% of medical costs, I am still left with thousands to pay to the hospital and specialists. These medical expenses have proven to be overwhelming, and I realize I have to ask for your help. I am grateful to have so many supportive family and friends who recognize, as a friend says, “No one chooses cancer, and no one should be financially ruined because of it.” Thank you for any financial support you can give so I can focus on recovery from breast cancer, and for sharing my cause on your social networks.” Love, Sherry
