This journey started in 2018, Shelley (known in the SCA/Norseland as Katryne) had been working in the States since 2012. We met in 2015 and by 2018 we were committed to starting our lives together raising my girls and working our dream to have a farm all our own. We were able to cover the costs of her initial acceptance and she is a legally sponsored alien spouse (many jokes about that!) That means she's allowed to stay but can't work or have regular access to services such as health care etc. In 2019 our family was hit hard by some very personal difficulties with our girls. Without Shelley we wouldn't have made it through that difficult time. Money was tight but we were saving for the final cost of the paperwork to change her status that would allow her to work again. Then the pandemic hit and currently, we are struggling to keep the farm. The fees have changed and we have been issued a timeframe in which this needs to be accomplished ~ which is asap as far as the courts are concerned. We appreciate any help anyone might give. Momma Kat is essential to our family, the best mom to my girls, she volunteers for both the SCA and Norseland in our medieval hobby and she takes care of everyone that comes across her path. Her former careers were in teaching and working with traumatic brain injury clients with the Department of Health for NY State and will return to those options once she is cleared. Thank you for reading this and considering helping our family. Every dime will be used to complete the process to cover the fees and application for a change of status.
