Dear family, friends, and colleagues, As you may know, Shanda's mom, Dorothea, passed away on Wednesday, July 5th. While she had been receiving treatment and care for an unusual issue (formation of open wounds on her body), she was progressing, and things were looking up, before her untimely death. This has been a particularly difficult time for Shanda, and her family, not only due to the back and forth to the hospital for Dorothea's care for a few months, but with Shanda due early September, it's made everything more challenging. While we, at Synergy, have been able to pay her a small amount weekly, despite her inability to work, it’s not enough to help sustain her, and manage the bills. Nor is it enough to support her in the incredible journey she and Alexis will face when they welcome their baby boy. We have created this LFEBridge, to help Shanda with her day-to-day expenses of the home, the soon-to-be expenses of welcoming her baby, and to allow her to not worry for a while. Her focus should be on her wellness; her pregnancy; their eventual baby; her mother's funeral; caring for the home; and all the expenses that come with it. If you don't really know Shanda, here's some fun information: ~She's been a massage therapist for over 14 years ~She's been with Synergy for 5 years ~She is one of our two primary sports massage therapists for our collegiate athletes ~She has two siblings, and a fiancé ~Her parents emigrated from St. Vincent and Jamaica ~She has a wonderful smile, and personality ANY gift and support will be appreciated, but not expected, and we thank you for your time and support! -Stacy and Andrew Abramson
