Dorian will be traveling to Washington, D.C. with his high school orchestra in February, giving him a rare opportunity to play at the Kennedy Center. A recent unexpected car repair to the tune of over a thousand dollars has wiped out what we had saved for the trip, so we are asking for help. Dorian has been working hard at several of the fundraising opportunities, and he plans to work several more of the concessions stand nights and weekends at the high school and the university to help offset the cost of the trip. Those opportunities are shared across the entire group, though, so there is a limit on what he can earn toward the total. In addition, he has been babysitting in order to earn his own souvenir money for the trip.If donations here go over the amount he ultimately needs for the trip package, the excess will go to related expenses not included in that amount, such as a spare set of strings or to replace any concert clothing he has outgrown. Even small donations will help--the first payment since the deposit is due in mid-November, and he has worked so hard and is looking so forward to the chance to play in one of the finest performing arts venues in the country, that we refuse to give up on the possibility.
