Hello, and thank you for checking out my donation page! I’m reaching out to my friends and family to find help paying for residential treatment for my PTSD and major depression. Here’s more of my story. I grew up experiencing sexual abuse from 4 years old until it stopped at age 9. Accordingly, I had always felt different, on the outside looking in, while I was a child. By 5th grade, I had written my first suicide letters to my family, although I wouldn’t actually make an attempt for some time. The years went by and I entered college at NKU. They offered free counseling so I took advantage and I was able to begin treating the emotional and psychological damage the abuse caused. After eventually finishing my Master’s program at Michigan, I sought treatment from a psychiatrist for medication. April of 2010 was the month I turned 25 years old. It was also the month I made my first suicide attempt. Since then, I have been handling my mental health diagnoses through individual therapy and psychiatric medication management, inpatient treatment and partial-hospitalization. My second suicide attempt was October of 2024. Fall of 2024, I participated in TMS therapy (transcranial magnetic stimulation). It was very useful and the positive effect, coupled with the rest of my treatment regiment, lasted for several months. March of 2024, I caught COVID and was physically sick for several weeks and it triggered another major depressive episode. Most recently, I spent a few nights at The Lindner Center of Hope. I have also begun Spravato treatment as an approach to treatment-resistant depression. As you can see by now, I have used several techniques to address my mental health. I have not yet participated in a residential treatment program. Now I have the opportunity to do just that. Innova Grace is a women’s residential treatment program in San Antonio, TX that specializes in treating the lasting effects of trauma. Participation means being away from the kiddos for the duration of the program. Your donation is going to help make sure Jonah and Eli will be able to come visit me with their Aunt Shannon during my stay. I and the boys are forever grateful for any contribution toward the cause. We will need to pay for the treatment itself. Also, travel for me to go down there in September and return at the end of the program. Aunt Shannon is my number one support and for the boys - there is no one like her! We will be able to have daily video calls but in-person visits are limited to a single 2 hour window every Sunday. I am hopeful that if we raise enough money, we will be able to pay for them to visit on one of those Sundays! Each and every donation will receive a personalized thank you. We appreciate you for thinking of all of us! Thank you thank you thank you!
