I'm at a point in my life when I want to do nothing but follow my passion. I am on a journey of self-discovery and forgetting my comfort zone. Studying at the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji is the next step in my dream.I am a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice with the long term goal of becoming a Clinical Psychologist and working with incarcerated populations. I also want to save the world. Helping people, creative expression, and travel are my biggest passions, and this trip will allow me to do all of these in the most amazing opportunity that I have ever had.I'm putting myself through school and taking some incredible steps toward my future career. I completed an internship at Prairie du Chien Correctional Institution this summer, and now am teaching a class at the same facility. I volunteer with individuals with Alzheimer's. I am a full time student with a part time job waitressing. I am involved in several organizations on campus including Restorative Justice and the Sexual Assault Awareness Council.Dance is my second passion. Many of you have seen how blissfully lost I become while dancing. Nothing in the world makes me feel more myself. In Fiji I will have the opportunity to learn Tahitian and Bollywood dance styles, along with other traditional island dance. In Fiji I will have opportunities to take Clinical Psychology classes, volunteer in a mental health facility, become immersed in a completely different culture, and find adventure through scuba diving, rock climbing, parasailing, surfing, and a million other things. Every day will be an adventure. This opportunity will be priceless for me, but waitressing part time does not make opportunities like this easy to reach. I will reach my goal, whatever it takes. Any amount of support will mean the world to me. Thank you so much for your generosity! Taking requests for souvenirs starting: now.
