My name is Paige Hyde. I am the owner of the wye princess.ABOUT PRINCESSThe wye princess is 18ft long , weighs about a tonne and can carry roughly 14 people. HER STORYThe wye princess was last running in 1999 , with her previous owner. She was used in a business called cathedral cruises, named after the cathedral in Hereford.She did river trips up and down the river but due to some difficulties , the business stopped running. Princess was left at her mooring with nobody maintaining her nor seeing to her. Later down the line this lead to the boat facing damage whether that was criminal damage , flood damage , rain damage etc. As time went on , the fixing cost grew higher and higher and higher. Due to the financial "burden" this boat would of been seen as, resulted in nobody even wanted to attempt fixing a boat in such state.WHY DID I BOTHER? My interest in princess started early 2024. I was struggling mentally and the boat clearly was struggling against the strong current of the wye. So as i result i used to sit near the boat whenever i needed a safe space. I could confide in the boat with whatever was on my mind and it weren't as if she'd tell anyone. Princess is not a human after all. But then i began caring for princess , i used to check on her often. After a while i decided to search her for the owner of this boat. Cut the long story short , i actually met the owner and he gave my the boat. My plans are to restore and do river trips again.Thank you very much for reading.
