Hey, my name is Dorian. I've had bad luck with my teeth for a long time (cavities, root canals, even a past crown). I went to the dentist today (already $144 for the visit + $255 for their in-house insurance plan to make everything cheaper in the long run)! Long story short, they want to try and save my tooth, which has a huge cavity. That involves prepping/cleaning it for a crown, possibly doing a root canal (possibly not!) and then putting the crown on. They quoted me $1900 for that, as seen in the image above. If it becomes an extraction, the cost is more like $1200, but then I need to be referred out to get an implant, which google tells me can be $1100-1300 plus extra fees for crowns etc. The costs are super high because I don't have formal insurance atm. Unfortunately, I am not yet able to pay myself a living wage at my coffee truck. I take enough to help pay rent/bills, then supplement that with commissions, shop sales, pop-up markets locally, etc. I need about $1000 up front just to make the appointment, I'm assuming because I'm uninsured/paying out of pocket (so they're asking for half the cost to schedule the procedure). I don't like to do this, but my partner's family has already helped with him and I buying the coffee truck, and my family also helped/had to plan a last-minute trip to greece to see my grandmother in case it's the last time they can. Right now, I have no other options, and I just need to take care of this before it gets a lot worse. I'm not sure what else to do. Thank you for reading, for your time, and for any help - donations, sharing, etc.
