***We reached our goal and the landlord has accepted to renew the lease!!! Thank you all so much! The members of the community are deeply grateful to you. It is so beautiful how everyone came together for this!*** Masjid al Karim is a spiritual treasure of Seattle. The Masjid celebrates and teaches the Quran and Sunnah, as transmitted through the Qadiri Sufi order, particularly through the Somali Owaisi lineage, and others. The Masjid serves a beautiful sub-section of the Seattle Muslim community, rooted in Somali culture yet deeply inviting and welcoming to all. It embodies the Prophetic tradition of Ihsan, through the character of its members, the beauty of the recitations and qasidas performed regularly, and the palpable blessing of its physical location, where innumerable recitations from the Quran and nights filled with praise of the Prophet, pbuh, have been performed. Due to the illness of some of its key funders, the Masjid has just received an eviction notice. This is an URGENT situation: we are hoping the landlord will give a few days respite, but right now we need to raise $10,000 by Monday. If you live in Seattle or can visit you are warmly welcome to attend on a Friday after Maghrib, for recitation of Quran and Qasidas in praise of the Prophet Muhammad, pbuh.
