Hi, my name is Sarah Harvey  June 7 I was diagnosed with the " healing stage" of shingles. I am 32 years old! I have had chicken pox as a child. what was going on? hmm... I guess I just didn't notice i had shingles. I took the prescribed medication for the shingles virus. by the next day, I was unable to walk. I woke up with my leg asleep. Then unable to walk shortly after collapsing. I have been in and out of the hospital. I have been seen by numerous specialists. I have no answer. I appear to be very healthy. This has been a medical nightmare. I am still unable to walk. I have been told by medical professionals that they are not sure at this point if I ever had shingles.  today is 7/22 and I am still unable to use my left leg properly. I am unable to perform everyday activities. such as showering, driving, lifting, bending, etc. without assistance. I have been issued a handicap pass and a cane without a diagnosis. I have now borrowed a wheelchair from a good friend due to collapsing ( only for long distances.)I am in a lot of pain every day. I have been unable to work due to my condition. I have secured my job with fmla. My work has been very supportive with my leave. However, I am unable to get medical leave or keep my insurance due to not having a diagnosis. Fmla period is unfortunately for recovery. As I am using all efforts to keep my health insurance and maintain the simplicity of my lifestyle.  I was ok. I was more than ok. I had a nightmare and have not woken up yet I am vulnerable and this is hard for me to express. I am slowly losing what I have worked so hard for. I realize these things do not mean much and at this moment my health is all that matters. however, with my current situation, I am working to pay for my health insurance between doctors' appointments.  I know that in the end that this will all be a bad dream. one thing I have learned in life is you have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. As uncomfortable as it is for me to ask for any kind of donation I realize anything helps.
