Those of you who know Sammy, know this: she is sweet, ambitious, and hard-working. She values authenticity and cultivating deep friendships. She is also a wife and mother of 3 incredible children. In June of this year, Sammy discovered a lump and was diagnosed with Stage 2 triple-positive breast cancer. Her treatment plan is extensive and will include chemo, surgery, radiation, and continuous monitoring well into 2024. As devastating and painful as this has been, God has been incredibly faithful. Sammy is being treated at the Cleveland Clinic, world-renowned for their cancer care. A web of friends and family, new and old alike, are already pouring out their love and support. More than anything, we echo Sammy and Mike’s request for continuous prayer. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer – Romans 12:12 This is perhaps the greatest gift we can give their family, to faithfully lift them up before the Father who loves them dearly. Raising a young family is a challenge in and of itself; adding cancer to the mix brings with it a plethora of additional physical, emotional, and mental burdens that we can bring before Jesus on their behalf. In addition, we want to rally behind them and help ease the financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis and treatment. While a cancer diagnosis seems to “freeze time” and catapults healing and treatment to the #1 priority, family life continues to move forward -- and with that comes a large variety of expenses. Funds that are raised will go toward these costs as well as medical bills, to make this one less thing for their family to be concerned about. Thank you for all of your love and support! If you'd like to follow along with Sammy's progress, you can find her CaringBridge page here. The Coates family also has a Meal Train set up.
