Hello friends, family, and kind strangers! My name is Samantha and I am raising funds for a 5- month volunteer position  with Mercy Ships in Tamatave, Madagascar!Mercy ships is a global charity, that operate a fleet of hospital ships in developing nations. These ships bring hope and healing to the poor, mobilizing people and resources worldwide. They sail to regions to provide first-rate medical care that saves lives. (the video at the top of this page is a short overview of the organization)In October I was looking into Mercy Ships, but didn't see a position at the time that I wanted to fill. So I set up to be notified when a position in the Hospital became available. A few weeks later, and I was notified that a position as a hospital supply assistant become available starting in January 2016. After filling out my application and waiting to hear back from the review board, I have been officially accepted for the position! "Blessed is she who has beleived that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!" -Luke 1:45Throughout this entire process, I know that God has been ever-so present. I know that without fully trusting in Him, I would not have been accepted. And as I now prepare for this trip, I know He wants me to lean in closer to Him so that I can see the path that He has prepared for me. Now, although I have been accepted to go to Madagascar, I have to begin raising funds for the trip. And this is why I am gathering all the people that I can; because this trip is volunteer, I will be paying for all expenses. Including, flights (to and from), room & board (monthly), and any extras that might come up during this process. Which is approximately equaling out to $7000. And I know how crazy that must seem, $7000 in 2 months?! How is that possible?! Well, I know that it is possible because, God would not have brought me this far if He didn't know that I would be able to find support from the people in my life. So, if you are able to help support my trip to Madagascar, even if it is $5, that $5 will help me in such a huge way. I also ask that you support me spiritually, keeping me in your thoughts and prayers as I prepare for the trip and as I go to Madagascar to volunteer. I know that God has some amazing things planned for me and I can't wait to contnue on this journey."In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" -Acts 20:35Thank you so much form the bottom of my heart! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on facebook or my phone. With all my love, Samantha Stone
