Dear friends, My name is Maxine Banton, I am a loving wife and mother of 2 children. I am reaching out to all of my friends, family, and acquaintances online. It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to you today, seeking your support and kindness. My beloved son, Saffron Banton, has been through a series of traumatic challenges that have drastically changed his life, and I am humbly asking for your help as we navigate through these difficult times. Since 2024, Saffron has been facing a gradual loss of vision caused by diabetic retinopathy. The past few years have been filled with immense struggles, as he battled COVID-19 not once, but twice, and underwent multiple surgeries. In an effort to preserve his sight, he endured four surgeries on his left eye and two on his right. Regrettably, despite his incredible strength and resilience, the surgeries resulted in permanent blindness. Throughout this arduous journey, Saffron has faced each challenge with courage and determination. Every single day, he works tirelessly to overcome the obstacles that his condition presents. But amidst his tenacity, fate dealt him another cruel blow - a diagnosis of prostate cancer. The tumor cells were recorded at stage 9, and it became evident that he required immediate surgery to combat the disease. During this period, he was also trying to pursue his education at the School for the Blind. However, the constant pain and numerous medical appointments left him feeling overwhelmed, making it difficult for him to fully focus on his studies while tending to his health needs. As his loving mother, I have been by his side throughout this tumultuous journey, flying to Florida where he lives with his family, to support and care for him as he navigates these challenges. Now, after three years of dedicated care, I find myself seeking help from you, our dear friends and community, to aid him in settling the financial burdens that have accumulated during these trying times. Any small contribution you can make would mean the world to us. Your generosity will allow Saffron to tackle the delinquencies in his finances, providing him with the peace of mind and stability he needs to focus on healing and rebuilding his life. As a mother, all I want is to see my son thrive and lead a fulfilling life. Your compassion and support would mean more than words can express.
