After being inspired watching my friend's sister run the marathon last year, I took a chance and entered the 2024 ballot the same day. This is something I'd always considered doing but had never plucked up the courage to apply before. The stars aligned and I was fortunate (and shocked) to find out I'd secured a place! I've run a few half marathons in the past but my last one was many years ago and I'm far from a regular runner now so this will be interesting. I'm looking forward to the challenge. I have set goals for this race but my main aim is to finish it knowing I did it for an important cause. So you want to join me in making a difference? This lesser-known charity is very close to my heart as my mum was diagnosed with womb cancer in 2024 and thanks to the research carried out by amazing charities like Peaches she is now cancer free!
