Loss of a mother to malignant tumor at a young age, felt worthless and lost, depressed. A long study period in this achievement culture, huge student debt, and being psychologically rejected at Department of Defense. I had to wait 17 weeks for an interview at the GGZ (Dutch mental health center). 4 months of questioning yourself, again. Fortunately I didn't get a DSM 5 stamp, but the waiting times at the youth mental health center are often too long in the Netherlands. I am by no means a victim, I just want to share my story to show that there is a way out. MIND Us and I share the same goal: to make mental health among young people (between 12 and 27 years old) a subject for discussion and to help young people to work on their mental health through exercise and social encounters. Together we will organize seminars that will explore my experience regarding mental health, resilience, discipline, sleep deprivation, training, diet, injuries, and more. We'll dive into examples of the toughest endurance races in the world, such as the Marathon des Sables and the Transcontinental Race. All donations will go to charity MIND Us Program: 40th anniversary of Pieterpad - 498 km by foot 20th Paris Brest Paris - 1219 km by bike Dam tot Damloop - 16 km by foot TCS Marathon Amsterdam - 42 km by foot The 20-year race Jordan - 250 km by foot
