My name is Kirsten Jordan. My grandmother, Rosemary Jordan, is an incredible person in need. She has been a hair dresser for 40+ years. She has been a hand to hold, shoulder to cry on, and keeper of many secrets for countless people over the years. She has always cared more about taking care of others and putting their needs first. Well, now she is the person who needs our help. She is in end stage renal failure and is in desperate need of a kidney. She has started the process of surgery to put a port in her arm to start dialysis. She has to travel 2.5 hours to go to her doctors appointments, which have been come very frequent. She had a procedure on June 28 to put the port in her arm. She went back for her check up to find the port was no good due to her veins being so small. She is going next week to have a new port put further up her arm because without the port, she can not start dialysis. Once the port takes, and she has to start dialysis, she will have to go through an 6-8 week class 5 days a week for 3 hours a day. During that time my grandfather, Rickey Jordan, and mother, Leigh Spurlock, will also have to travel back and forth everyday from Greenville to Birmingham to be her back ups and learn how to take care of her. The 5 hour drive alone is a financial burden in itself.  Her doctors at UAB have made it very clear that if she gets a kidney before she starts dialysis it will be the best thing for her and the new kidney. So I am asking help to take some of the burden off financially as they get through this process for the next couples months. If you feel it in your heart to donate it will be much appreciated, but if you are not in a place to do so, please keep her and our family in your prayers. Thank you, Kirsten.
