Update 4/11: At 4:17AM Rena received the call that they had a Kidney that was probably a match but needed to do some blood work. Fast forward to 6:55AM when she received the call that the Kidney was a perfect match! After the drive to Kansas City, MO she finally was able to get a Kidney transplant!! In recovery now, she is up and talking! Still in pain from the surgery but thankful for this blessing! If you would like to reach out to Rena directly, feel free to message her on Facebook messenger or you can text her phone. We thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and donations this far! Update 3/18: I have been placed on the Kidney Donor List! I just want to thank everyone out there who has sent prayers & support my way! I have monthly testing being done to stay up to date and current on the donor list. I’m still currently doing dialysis three days a week. Any monetary donations received go directly towards my ongoing hospital bills and future expenses related to a transplant. Thank you again and may GOD BLESS YOU ALL! Backstory: Back in 2016, Lupus attacked my right kidney leaving irreversible damage. Since then I have been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure. I began dialysis 3 months ago after an emergency port surgery. Since then I have been referred to KU Medical Center to get added to the Kidney Transplant Waitlist. With that being said, I have a list of tasks/testing I am required to get done before being considered for a transplant. Although I am currently employed and still working full-time, I have dialysis three times a week which consists of 4 hours per session. I've been using my paid time off and sick time to attend my appointments so far, however, this will eventually run out. Since we do not know when I will be blessed with a donor Kidney, I can't afford to be placed on disability at this time. We would like to spread the word that I'm trying to find a direct donor and not rely on the donor list. I have A- blood type meaning I can receive a kidney from blood types A and O. If you meet this criteria and would like to be a potential donor please text me at ( 7 8 5 ) 8 1 9 - 1 0 3 8 I will be able to add you to my list. We appreciate any help or support at this time! Whether that's shown as a monetary donation to help with my medical bills or a simple share to help spread the word, it all truly means the world to me! Thank you for taking the time to read my story! If you'd like to look into more details about the kidney donation process please visit: https://www.kidney.org/transplantation
