As many of you know, on July 13 while working on renovating their new home, our beloved Al had a devastating accident resulting in a skull fracture and brain bleed, followed by complications of a stroke and blood clots in his lung and leg. It has been a terrifying time but we feel the outpouring of love and support and it is working! We are grateful for the incredible care he has received in the neuro ICU at Boston Medical Center for the past 2 weeks. Today marks a milestone as he takes the first step toward recovery with a move to the step down unit and we couldn't be more hopeful. Over the past year, Di and Al bought this new home and took on the renovation process themselves as a retirement project. They have made significant progress but there remains a lot to be done for it to be safe when Al is ready to come home. Al is a cherished husband, dad, brother, grampy, son-in-law, uncle, neighbor and friend. Anyone lucky enough to be in Di and Al’s lives has benefited from their support many times, they are always among the first to offer anyone a helping hand. With your support it will be an honor to help Al overcome this challenging chapter and step back into his home and feel all our love surrounding him! We love you Al, keep fighting, you got this!
