In November 2024, I’ll be attempting the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. At the end of 2024, my stepdad was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and since then we have become aware of how this amazing charity can help those affected by MND, and how vital donations are towards finding a cure. With motor neurone disease, known as MND, messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles. This leads the muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste, which can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. Symptoms also progress at varying speeds, which makes the course of the disease difficult to predict. MND is life-shortening and there is no cure which is why research into the disease is vital. More information about MND and the amazing work that the MND association does can be found via the link below. https://www.mndassociation.org
