Dear Family & Friends, You all know my incredible mother, Dana Filippello. And for anyone this may reach that doesn’t know her; she is vivacious, funny to no end, wise, and the lifeblood of our family. Her life and passion are wholeheartedly dedicated to her 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and sister Jenny. Tragedy struck our family at the start of 2024. My mom, without an ounce of hesitation, dropped everything to become a full time caregiver to my niece as my brother was in need. Her own financial situation was put on the back burner without a second thought. As few of you may know, about 6 weeks ago we received heartbreaking news. My mom… our everything, has been diagnosed with an aggressive, late stage, endometrial cancer. After many consults and opinions, traditional chemotherapy is not an option at this point. The odds of her making it through this taxing treatment are not in our favor by a long shot. We are beyond devastated and the fear of losing her has consumed us all. There is a bright side to this story though with lots of hope. In the search for a more promising plan, we found an amazing clinic and brilliant doctor. His integrative approach combines chemotherapy with functional medicine all while supporting her immune system; so as not to suffer through treatment. This also gives her an overwhelmingly greater chance of coming out of this nightmare alive, well, and for the long haul. We are so thankful to have this opportunity, but it does come at a cost. This being the unconventional way; insurance will not cover it. The purpose of this fund raising is to help give my mom, monetarily, the best chance to survive. As she already has the will to live, love for life, faith in God, and strength to persevere. The out of pocket cost of the entire treatment will be around $30,000. Which is only a fraction of traditional chemotherapy. We are humbly asking for you to help, if you are able, in supporting my mom to get this life saving intervention. I need to express the urgency of her situation and beg you, please share this far and wide! Every donation of any amount will help and be so graciously appreciated.
