Helen McKenna………….Where do we start! The hole you’ve left in our hearts feels like we’ve known you a lifetime, not only 2 Years. You’ve left an imprint on us all that will stay there forever, along with the image of that Gorgeous smile that could light up any room you walked into. On Friday, Helen started to feel unwell and took herself to hospital. After an examination she was sent to Walton Hospital and it was discovered that she had a bleed on the brain. Helen being Helen, had let people know where she was and explained that she might not be contactable for a few days and wasn’t sure how long she would be in, so no-one was worried if they didn’t hear from her. Always thinking about everyone else. After further scans on Sunday, it was decided on Monday that they would have to operate to stop the bleed and whilst doing this found that the circumstances were much more severe than they originally thought. Helen was then placed on Life support and put into a coma and the family were told the next 48hrs were critical for her and she fought through those till the end. Devastatingly, on the morning of Thursday 3rd August Helen passed away with her family by her side. Helen was 36 years old and the proof that bad things, happen to the best people. Her boys Austin & Lincoln were her absolute world, and she was their’s. She was so invested in them, their hobbies and their friends and was a MASSIVE part of Austins Rugby Club, Westbank Bears. Her house was like a creche for all her adopted sons, she loved to be a part of it and my god did she make that known. You would hear her before you seen her and that was one of her best qualities that will be missed immensely by everyone at the club. When she wasn’t at Westbank, you would find her at Halton Farnworth Hornets supporting her Niece who also plays for the girls team. She just loved to be a part of that atmosphere and supporting her family in all they did and she was proud no matter which club she was at, even if she was wearing her Westbank top under her coat, haha! Helen worked at Morrisons and had just this week been promoted, again something she had worked so hard for to make a better life for her and her Boys. She would come straight from work to training or go from matches to work on Saturdays/Sundays, making sure she never missed a thing. She rocked that uniform better than anyone. Austin 12 & Lincoln 4, now have the heartbreaking task of having to grow up without their mum and although this gofund me will not change that, hopefully it will take some of the worry away from the boys family who will be doing everything they can to support them, as I’m sure everyone that knew Helen will be doing too. Thankyou for all your support during this devastating time for the Boys! Helen, We’ll miss you forever and remember you always……Go Light up Heaven with that smile xxx
