Some of you may know, but to those that don't, I have been diagnosed with Triple + (ER+/PR+ HER2+) IDC (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma) Breast Cancer. It has been a long couple of months with hearing the diagnosis and finding doctors/a care team as well as deciding what kind of treatment I really want to put my body through. I made a decision to take chemotherapy and have already started on that regimen. I have to do 6 rounds, once every 21 days and will be done in November. Following that will be a double mastectomy surgery. After surgery, the doctor will test the tissue and lymph nodes that were removed to make sure it has not spread further into my body. If all goes well, I will be put on anti-bodies for 11 weeks then hormone treatment for 5-15 years. If the cancer has spread, I will be put on a much harsher chemotherapy plan for 14 weeks. We are praying for no lymph node involvement and no harsh chemo. Being that my cancer is hereditary and I am high risk, it is the best decision to remove both. I work as a self-employed, Licensed Massage Therapist, and during this time I have to work around my appointments. BUT being my schedule is flexible and my clients too, I am able to move my calendar around to accommodate their needs as well as look out for my health and best interest in treating them. With that being said, the bills are still coming in and work is slow. We are currently having to spend savings to pay for each doctor visit as well as huge amounts for surgeries and medications as of late. I will be completely out of work after November through the new year due to surgery and not being able to use my upper body. I ask that if you can, to please donate to help with any of the fees/expenses we are incurring. Every little bit helps. I know this is a tough time for folks and to ask this is really hard for me to do, but the struggle is real. If you'd rather not donate and maybe send a meal or two when surgery comes, I love food and will accept that as well. Thank you everyone for reading and for your donations. It means so much to me and Mike. Much love and appreciation to you all.
