We welcomed Quincy Kai Evans to the world yesterday 8/4/2024 @ 5:38 in the morning.Quincy was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) with single ventricle at around 20-22 weeks prenatal. Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome is a rare congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is never fully developed. Quincy has a unique variant of this syndrome that will make his road a bit more challenging along with a potential underlying genome diagnosis of Heterotaxy. In addition to the main diagnosis, Quincy has a hiatal hernia and potential intestinal malrotation. We know that the road ahead is going to be challenging and long for Quincy and he is already the strongest person we have ever met (along with my wife, Alychiphey). This money will go toward medical bills, family expenses, and transportation costs to and from the hospital at OHSU in Portland over the next few months. Additionally, we know that there is a longer road ahead for an HLHS diagnosis with a staged surgical plan and potential setback over the next few years. Thank you so much for your kindness and support during this time!-With Love A+B+Q
