My name is Jessie Simon and I am starting this LFEBridge for the sweetest 11 year old I know, Aubreanna Strickland. Aubreanna is such an amazing, kind, and fun loving child. She loves to talk with her friends, dance, swim, make YouTube videos, and is the best big sister anyone could ever ask for. On Sunday afternoon, our sweet Aubreanna and two of her cousins were out having fun swimming and playing in the ocean at Isle of Palms. Suddenly, Aubreanna saw one of her cousins lose her balance and begin to drift away due to a rip current. When Aubrey saw this, our brave girl swam out without hesitation to try and save her; But Aubreanna was tragically swept under the rip current and was under anywhere from 7-15 minutes. Aubreanna was rescued and CPR was performed on the shore until medics arrived where she was then transported to Shawn Jenkins Children’s MUSC Hospital for a Non-fatal drowning. She is currently in the PICU on a ventilator that is breathing for her while her lungs recover. We are hoping to slowly wean her and take the vent out and see how she is breathing with just high flow oxygen. I am asking you to lift Aubreanna and her family up in your prayers, share her story everywhere, & consider making a donation to help this sweet family. The money raised here will go to help the family with medical expenses, travel costs, and will hopefully take some of the financial stress off their plate. Every donation is appreciated and will allow them to focus on helping and healing Aubreanna. UPDATE: Aubreanna had a big day! They weaned her off the ventilator and extubated, so no more breathing tube! She is now on Hi Flo oxygen because she still has fluid in her lungs. She is resting and the doctors said she is looking really good. Please continue to pray for Aubreanna.
