Curtis Martin is a kind and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and brother. He is a strong man who has always put his family and loved ones first. He served his community as a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years and is born and raised in Huntington, NY. On Monday, July 24th Curtis's life changed forever. He went in for an aortic aneurysm removal that was near his spine. After a 9-hour surgery, the aneurysm was removed and his family celebrated that he was still alive. Unfortunately, the surgery did not go as planned and after Curt awoke from the surgery, he was not able to move his legs. With some testing, results had shown that Curtis had suffered from a spinal cord infraction and will be permanently paralyzed from the waist down. With such a diagnosis, one could only imagine the long road ahead. Curt went from being strongly independent to now needing around the clock care. But what Curt has is a wonderful, loving support system. This tragedy will forever change the lives of Curt and his family. With a heavy heart, I ask everyone to extend a helping hand. With the future to come, medical bills, therapies, and renovations to make sure he has the proper accommodations will take a bill toll on Curt and on the family financially. Just $1 can go a long way. We also ask for prayer for healing physically, emotionally and mentally. We believe in the power of prayer and believe that miracles can happen. Thank you to anyone who can give and especially thank you to those who will continue to pray! From the Martin family.
