Emily’s beloved dog Polly is fighting for her life after a rattlesnake bite. Many of you may know Emily’s dad Joe King took his own life 13 years ago in central Oregon. In true Emily fashion, she has turned the anniversary of his death into a girl's camping trip to honor & remember Joe and to turn an otherwise brutal day into something she looks forward to. This year on the anniversary of his death, Emily’s dog Polly was bit by a rattlesnake at the John Day River. The closest 24 hour vet was Dove Lewis, a 2 hour drive from where she was bit. Polly is still currently undergoing care at Dove Lewis and her prognosis is still unclear. Polly is an incredible dog, everyone who meets her loves her. She’s so smart & sweet, she’s like the definition of a “good dog.” She’s loved by so many including Emily’s stepdaughter Emma Jane who loves Polly like a sibling. Losing Polly, at only 3 years young, would devastate Emily. We are trying everything we can to ensure Polly has every chance to live but the cost of care is expensive especially at Dove Lewis, as I’m sure many of you know. Anything you can contribute will help Polly live a full life and make many people happy.
