Hi there George & Alex here, Kanani came into our lives five years ago and has been a most unexpected blessing. She is full of love, curiosity, energy, and kisses. Many of you who have met Nani know that a couple of years ago we left Nani with a sitter while on a vacation and when we returned, Nani had a severe breathing issue. We have been trying to figure this out for a couple of years. We were told many times that it was hard to know what was wrong without the doctor seeing one of her breathing episodes. Well today, July 21, 2024, Kanani and I were on a walk in San Carlos when she began to have an episode. To make a long story short, she was getting worse fast and in a way I had not seen before. So, I took her to SAGE Veterinary in Redwood City, where their wonderful staff saved Nani's life. When we arrived, we were quickly informed that Nani was in critical condition and without intubation and further help she was going to die. But they would need a deposit of $9,600.00 to continue treating her with no guarantee that it would save her life. We didn't hesitate to put it on credit. Thankfully, they stabilized her within the hour. At this point, we are hoping she makes it through the night so we can explore options tomorrow. We do not yet know how much further treatment she will need nor how much it will cost should she make it through the night, but we very much want her to live. She is only 9 years old and we are not ready to say goodbye. Whatever you can help us with we'd greatly appreciate. This pup means the absolute world to us and she's got more than a handful of good years left. Please help us save our dog and let her live her life comfortably. Love, George & Alex
