We are friends of Mala Bhansingh. As some of you may know, Mala died unexpectedly at the end of May 2024. She had just turned 54 in early May. Her sudden passing has left her two daughters without their primary caretaking parent and without ongoing financial support. For those of you who knew Mala, you know she was a strong, single mother who was kind and loving and did everything she could to give her two girls the best life possible. They were her absolute pride and joy. Emma (19 years old) and Megan (16 years old) are devastated. These two exceptional young women are now faced with incredible challenges. They are trying to remain in their home in Merrick, NY so that Megan can finish her last 2 years of school at Calhoun High School. Unfortunately, while Mala worked extremely hard, the girls are left with some daunting expenses. They are faced with mortgage payments, car payments, utilities, water, food, clothing and property taxes to name a few. While Mala’s elderly mother (78 years old) is helping them as much as she can (she continues to work in NYC), it is simply not enough. We are launching this LFEBridge to ask for your help. Please consider donating in support of Emma and Megan. Please help them live as Mala wanted them to…with love, joy and hope for a great future. Any money donated will be used to help the girls with their day-to-day living expenses, and, if possible, to assist in their future education expenses.
