After a lot of gentle, and not so gentle coercion, the Webers have given us their blessing to reach out for support. For those who have not heard, Heath has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Multiple myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells found in bone marrow that affect your immune system, kidneys and bone health. Heath is currently at Stanford Hospital undergoing the first of many treatments. Eight weeks ago Heath was working full time and planning their family’s summer vacation. After experiencing pain in his ribs and chest and going to multiple doctors, specialists and running countless tests, on June 28th they received the devastating news that he has cancer. Instantly their world was flipped upside down. In just a matter of weeks Heath has gone from planning a camping trip across the country with his family to fighting this ugly disease in a hospital room. As the sole provider for his family of four, this also means an unforeseeable financial burden for their family. Heath has began chemo treatments along with plasmapheresis and dialysis due to complications with his kidneys. He’s endured a countless number of tests and procedures that have only exasperated his pain. Heath has been moved from the oncology department to the ICU due to his oxygen levels dropping. They’ve assembled an amazing team of doctors, nurses and specialists. Heath and Karen have faith that God’s hand is in this. Their days are filled from morning til night with procedures, tests and meetings along with many nightly interruptions which has been exhausting for them both physically, mentally and emotionally. Karen hasn’t left his side and is sleeping where ever they allow just to be with him. Unfortunately Myeloma is a cancer Heath will fight for the rest of his life and by God’s grace keep in remission for many years in between. There is no doubt Heath is in the fight of his life but he’s giving it everything he has. We’ve had so many people reach out wanting to help in any way they can but feeling helpless. Whether you know the Webers personally or otherwise, we are humbly asking for your support to alleviate the financial burden that the Weber family will undoubtably face with current and upcoming medical bills and travel expenses during this difficult and lengthy battle. Heath, Karen and the boys are grateful and sincerely thank everyone who has reached out with concern and prayer and generously given to support and love on their family. Any amount you feel called to give is so appreciated. Please continue to PRAY! They continue to lean on the grace of God, focusing on Heath’s progress and the blessings He shows them each day. We believe in the power of prayer and are continuing to pray for complete healing from above.
