Hi, I am Aaron Newell (Steve's brother), and I am asking for your help. As some of you may know, my brother was admitted to the hospital on February 13th and was diagnosed with kidney failure. He was given multiple blood transfusions and put on dialysis with the hope of restarting his kidneys. He was in the hospital for 10 days and was ultimately diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure. He was scheduled to have dialysis 3 times a week upon leaving the hospital but shortly after his hospital stay, he became extremely sick and was admitted back into the hospital due to C. diff. The doctors performed emergency surgery after locating a 1 cm hole in his colon that almost did him in. He was in ICU for the next week and was released. Steve is unable to work and is currently on dialysis 3 days a week. Steve only has short-term disability insurance which expires soon, and his medical and household bills are piling up fast. My mother is helping Steve to get the proper government assistance paperwork filled out (disability, Medicare and social security). This has been a challenge that is taking much longer than expected, however, the bills don't seem to take as long! Steve is not on Facebook and is not one to ask for anything but if you can help support him in any way no matter how small, it would go a long way and is greatly appreciated.
