On the morning of June 30th I received a call from my sister that no aunt or nevertheless a mother would want to hear. The call was that Ryan and his friends was in a terrible car accident and they were rushing him to Vermont Medical with head trauma causing brain bleed and seizures. Later diagnoses will reveal that Ryan also suffered from a collapsed lung. His mother Julissa who is a single working mother of 4 has been by his side and during the recovery process ever since. During this tragic event, Saranac Lake has lost a life of a very loved teen named Lucas Tendler, and the other passenger in the vehicle, Jonah Whiting remains in critical condition. From the moment the call was received prayers for all 3 boys were made and continue to be requested through our network of friends and family. Through the glory of the lord, Ryan has made a miraculous recovery throughout his stay at the hospital. His brain bleed became manageable and although there was a minor set back with his collapsed lung that a tube had to be inserted in his chest, within a day or 2 the tube was removed so he can continue healing on his own. Although external recovery seems swift, Ryan still has a long road ahead of him both physically and mentally. A typical teenager who loves martial arts and going to the gym, now has to take a step back and put what he loves to the side. I am starting this fundraiser to help Julissa, Ryan's mom with bills, and necessities for Ryan during this difficult time and recovery. As a single mom, she has missed work, and accumulated expenses by doing what any loving mother would do and that is staying by her son's side. Your support in any amount helps and is forever grateful. Also, continue the prayers for all 3 families involved. Thank you ❤️
