Never in a million years would I have thought I would be writing posts like this but here we are: About a month ago my father, Mihai Amihalachioaie was diagnosed with HCC liver cancer. After almost 2 months of tests, screenings, scans, EKGs and a couple hospitalizations (Moldova and Romania), we decided to transfer him to Turkey to the Acibadem International Hospital in Istanbul so he can get better care, treatment and hopefully a chance to live. Right at this moment, he is in Istanbul undergoing initial screenings, CT scans, MRIs and blood tests(again) to figure out if he can potentially be eligible for a liver transplant. Because this very complex surgery would cost us a fortune - around $80000 just for the surgery (plus travel expenses, pills and post-op procedures and treatments), we are asking anyone and everyone that has ever been touched by his music, career or simply by his very modest personality, to donate to help us cover this colossal expense, so my dad can keep creating beautiful music and enjoy more time with his family and his grandchildren. In case my dad IS ELIGIBLE and his overall health allows for a transplant, my very brave brother will donate part of his liver to him. There is a worst-case scenario that makes us ineligible for a transplant. In that case, we would still need lots of funds for possible tumor removal(he has several big and small tumors as well as an advanced form of cirrhosis) surgery, chemotherapy sessions, further tests and screenings, as he also has several metastatic lesions of the right adrenal gland and we are yet to find out what kind of treatment he will need to undergo for that condition. There are no words to describe the emotional pain and suffering my family and I are going through right now and any donation to save his life would mean the world to our family. Please see below his CT scan translated in English and also one of the most popular music pieces he ever wrote and recorded, dedicated to my mom... Please share this post on all your social media accounts. We would like as many people as possible involved. May you and all those close to you be healthy, so you never have to go through this yourselves... Thank you to each and every one of you… Ruxanda and Petru
