Hello! My name is Blake. I met Mel Jacobson back in graduate school for Marriage and Family Therapy. To know Mel is to know how empathetic, kind, generous, and loving she is. There's no way I can fit all the information about her into a paragraph, but to sum it up, Mel is the best kind of person. On January 4th, 2024 Mel had major orthopedic surgery. This has required a lengthy recovery process including some major hiccups around getting appropriate care (which I won't get into, suffice it to say it has been a terrible headache). Mel ended up at a rehab facility in St. Paul for her post-surgery recovery needs where she still stays. This rehab facility recently gave Mel a rather large bill that was not at all expected. It amounts to close to $2000. Medical Assistance has been charging "rent" for her stay since February which the facility was not passing along until the cumulative bill she just received. If you know anything about disability or medical assistance systems, you know that lump sum becomes a challenge quickly especially when you're not allowed to work without losing your benefits. There's more to say about that issue, but it would become a rather long description. To sum it all up, these funds would be used to pay that enormous rehab/rent bill off. Any leftover funds would be for other needs or bills that may be accumulating. Thanks for your support!
