Hi, my name is Rachelle mother of 3 and I am fundraising for my son’s brain pituitary gland tumor surgery. Please help my son to save his life, eyesight and his future. He is 22 yrs old college student in the Philippines. Thank you in advance and God bless you. Last year August 2024 I went back to the Philippines after 9 years to visit my son. The last time I saw him was April 2018. He want to go back to Philippines to continue his studies. He flew from Milan, Italy to Philippines He was 17 years old then. Full of courage to fulfill his dreams. Until this happens during his college years. He always feels tired and blurring of vission. He went to the optalmologist to have his eye checked we are shocked with the result that his eyes are almost blind. Then we are reffered to neuro opta but he was not able to go to the scheduled check up. Because he suffered from severe headache. July 2024 he was admitted to the ER of FEU hospital after a series of test and MRI confirm that he is suffering from hydrocepalus and supera sellar mass (pituitary tumor) he needs surgery to put a VP shunt and tumor biopsy. He was recovering at home until after two weeks after his surgery the worst news arrived to us that his tumor was malignant. Glioblastoma Stage2. The saddest part he cannot go back to school because my son has cancer. And I need to go back to Italy with my youngest son and my husband need stay to our cancer warrior son. September 2024 he needs to under go 45 days intensive chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Then after that 6 cycle of oral chemo. September 2024 to October 2024 After the 45 days intensive chemo and radiation therapy thank God his tumor got smaller. New Year 2024 gives us new hope because after 2cycle of chemo MRI shows that tumor is getting smaller from lime size tumor to grape size tumor down to peanut size tumor. Improvement in his balance walking memory and eye sight. But April 12,2024 he felt abdominal pain. Since my son is immuno compromised. My husband called the assistant of our neuro Onco. And we were told to bring him to the ER. For further assessment. April 13, 2024 We were admitted to the hospital CT scan, blood test and VP shunt tap for culture etc. until the 3rd day my son did not wake up any more and was intubated and rushed to the Neuro Intensive Care Unit. The doctors told us they need to remove the VP Shunt and put an external VP Shunt to prevent the infection in the brain. And another VP shunt to other site after they rule out the infection. My son diagnosis peritonitis. After 2 weeks my son was transferred to a regular room with NGT. He needs to learn how eat again to chew and swallow. And physical theraphy to learn how to walk again with the grace God and your help. My son hopefully will recover to continue his life journey. Thank you so much and God Bless you and your family.
