On Friday July 14th, Leah was driving with her boyfriend near her home of Lebanon, Oregon when she involved in a tragic car accident. Her drivers side door was struck head on across a major highway. While her boyfriend Chris was relatively unscathed, the angle of Leah's driver side to the oncoming car forced the impact on the left side of her body and she was marked unconcious at the scene and rushed to St. Vincent Hospital in Beaverton, Oregon. So far we have learned that she has suffered a broken pelvis, broken tibia, fractures in her femur, a concussion, and severe bruising and swelling on the entire left side of her body. She is currently in a heavily sedated unconcious state and awaiting her surgeries once she is stable enough. Leah will be undergoing multiple surgeries to insert stabilizing rods in her leg and surgery on her hip to repair her pelvic area. Leah is truly a courageous and wildly loving spirit. She is fiercely loyal to her family and adores her one son, Jacob. Leah is the type of person that will bring you a gift just because she wants you to know that she remembered you; she tells wild and long stories, often to new strangers that she becomes fast friends with. Leah is the kind of person that will recognize the same grocery clerk and become friends with them and truly get to know them because she is always wanting to recognize those that others seem to pass by. Leah has been struggling to get her feet off the ground after moving to Oregon a few years back. She has put her whole heart into pushing her dispensary off the ground but was financially stalled and has found side jobs in the meantime to get her through. However in all of these times, she always is there to remind her family and friends that they are special and that if they need anything she will find a way to get it for them. Leah is currently going to incur multiple bills that her insurance will not cover, including her surgeries on her multiple broken bones, her extended hospital stay, and her recovery (including physical therapy.) This fundraiser is to help assist with the medical bills she will not be able to cover herself and to help get her back on her feet after this debilitating experience. If you're reading this, just know that Leah would probably tell you "You're special goddamit!" and she'd thank you from the bottom of her heart for any help.
