Thank you for visiting our Go Fund Me page. Natalie and I would like to explain why we have decided to set this up and how your donation will help. Unfortunately on 17th February 2011 in Greece, our dear friend and colleague Liza received a devastating call. Her brother, Greg had been in a very bad car accident. Greg was a young and fit 32-year-old who enjoyed playing basketball in his spare time and had a full time job and girlfriend. On that night, his life changed forever. Greg was driving at night when he was hit by another car. He lost control of the car and mounted the pavement, hitting parked cars along the way. Unfortunately, there was no CCTV and the car drove off, witnesses could only say it was a Jeep and the culprit was never found. Greg and his family have never received any justice for what happened to him. Sadly Greg received life-changing injuries and is paralysed from the waist down due to suffering a fracture dislocation of T12-L1 with accompanying paraplegia. Greg receives very little help from the Greek government as he, unfortunately, didn't work enough years to access the Greek NHS. Therefore Greg is only able to access the most basic treatment which is available for those people who are poor and living in poverty. For this reason, he is not able to access much medical care and therefore most treatments such as regular physiotherapy sessions need to be paid for privately. Greg is currently being looked after by his mum and dad who are sadly both in poor health themselves and who do not receive any carers allowance. As you can imagine the whole family is struggling both mentally and financially. On top of all of this, the family has just been told that they have to move out of their current home as the landlord wants his son to live in the property. Greg's condition is rapidly declining as he has not been able to have any physio due to lack of funds, he is getting bed ulcers, he has lost the majority of his teeth and his mental health is suffering badly. WE NEED YOUR HELP! We would like to raise as much money as possible to help Greg and his parents. Your money will help with physio treatment, transportation, movers and many more things. Thank you for reading Greg's story, we thank you in advance for your donation. Daniela & Natalie x
