Hello everyone. Unfortunately, I have some devastating news to share. This is a Go Fund Me for Angel Vasquez, the massive medical bills he is about to accrue, loss of income and his road to recovery. On the afternoon of July 22nd, Angel was visiting friends in Long Island New York. It was a gorgeous sunny day and Angel was riding on his motorcycle. This is something he did often and is an expeirenced rider who enjoys every second of it. Out of nowhere, a distracted driver hit him from behind, causing him to crash and become seriously injured. Angels injuries are extensive and continue to arise. He currently has a broken pelvis, a broken left femur, a broken left arm and wrist, and a ruptured spleen. Angel has already had 2 surgeries and his family is praying he doesn't need any more. He has also had multiple blood transfusions and is currently in an indescribable amount of agony and pain. The ONLY reason Angel is still alive is because he was wearing a helmet. For those of you who truly know Angel, you know he is an extremely private and prideful man. No matter what challenges he faces, he does it with a smile on his face and always a joke coming out of his mouth. Right now Angel is struggling to see brighter days. He is currently in the hospital in Long Island, NY. With traffic, it is over a three-hour drive from home. Angie, his loving wife, has not left his side since the accident. Angie is currently staying at the hospital, sleeping in a chair, barely eating hospital food, worrying if her husband is going to make it through the night and most of all worrying about her children. Angel's 4 children are the reason he breathes. They are his reason for living. His two daughters (ages 11 & 19) and his two sons (ages 15 & 23) are the only things that are making Angel fight this journey. Four days after the accident his two daughters both celebrated their 11th and 19th birthdays. Without Dad being present. This was the first time in their existence that he has missed something so precious in their lives. However, this doesn't help his mental state on top of his physical state. Both Angel and Angie are small business owners. Angel started his company from scratch and is still in the process of growing it. Unfortunately, Angie had to close her business last month which means the family of 6 only has one income. With Angel now being out of work for an extensive unknown period, the financial burdens have now kicked in. At some point, Angel will be moved from the NY hospital into a long-term rehabilitation center in Connecticut. Angel will have to learn how to walk and become strong enough to come home to his family. This will take months. He will also be required to have almost a year of physical therapy. Once he is home he will not be able to go to work anytime soon. Angel is also not eligible for unemployment due to him working for himself. We humbly ask for any donation to help alleviate any stress and financial burden on not only Angel, but his wife Angie as well. The only thing Angel needs to focus on is his recovery. This is no easy task for Angel as he is and always has been the main provider in his household. Thank you for taking the time to read Angel's story. Please donate and continue to share.
