UPDATED: Hi all, my name is Shannon, and I created this LFEBridge to help my childhood friend, Summer Rogers, whose 23-year-old son is dealing with two life-threatening illnesses. He has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer called Hepatosplenic T-Cell Lymphoma, and is also battling a regurgitating aortic heart valve which is going to require open heart surgery. He needs the open heart surgery right away or within the next 6 months, but they are unable to perform this procedure yet due the Lymphoma he is battling right now, the requirement for aggressive chemotherapy, and all the risks involved... He is being set up for a bone marrow transplant as well, and they are struggling to find a grade 10 match for him. His full blooded, biological sister, is only a half match or a 5, but they will use her if they can't find a grade 10 match for him. They won't have a choice as this procedure must be performed, and the success rate drops using a grade 5 versus a 10. Also, Summer and Colton are wanting to get second opinion on all these issues at the specialty cancer hospital in Charleston, and it's going to cost money to get down there and have all of this done. All of this has placed Summer in a tremendous position financially when it comes to taking care of household bills/needs, paying for everything involved, and being there with her son. She has been unable to work much, and will be unable to work for several months going forward. It is just her, her daughter, and her son, so she needs all the help she can get.
