I am doing my best to prepare for my family's future. I have to say it is very difficult to prepare for something you have no idea when and how long it will affect you. My six year old was recently activated on the transplant list for a new Kidney. At any moment our lives are going to be flipped upside down, once again. We are very fortunate in that she is overall doing well, and that her medical expenses are covered by state and medicare. However our normal home, utility expenses, child care for my other daughter, as well as any hotel, gas and food costs while we are recovering 60miles away from home, are what I worry about. I obviously will not be able to work while this happens and doctors cannot give me any estimate of time recovery may take. Being a single parent, i have not been able to set aside very much in savings thus far.I know that money or no money, things will be ok for us. We know that being together and being healthy is most important. In the past five years, my daughters and I have overcome our fair share of challenges, this is just one I have the opportunity to somewhat plan for. Thank you for taking a moment to read this and please do not feel any obligation to donate. Good vibes, wishes, and prayers are also more than appreciated!
