Chris's Journey Chris's battle started with phantom smells and occasional nausea, which quickly escalated to more severe symptoms. After initial examinations and scans, doctors identified a tumor, leading to surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN on August 18th. The surgery was successful, with doctors removing 90% of the tumor as planned. Following surgery, Chris underwent 6 weeks of radiation and 7 weeks of chemotherapy. While we celebrated the end of his radiation treatments on Halloween of 2024, recent scans have unfortunately revealed two new small growths. Current Situation As of November 6, 2024, Chris is facing new challenges: He was admitted to the emergency room in Burnsville due to persistent abdominal and stomach pain. Doctors discovered blood clots in his lower left abdomen and lungs, which are currently being treated in the hospital. He will be going to a transitional care unit until the doctors think he is strong enough for another chemo treatment.
