Paying it Forward…Recently we all came together as a group to help out our dear friends and their event they put on for us every year. There was a huge outpouring all because one lady had an idea and she and her friend ran with it. Nikki would give you the shirt off her back. As many of you know, for more than a year now she has been battling with some pretty severe neck, spine, and disc issues. You may not know however, that she’s been unable to work because of them. After being denied disability, she has had to take further action. Because of the amount of time that can take before she sees any benefits, Nikki could use our help. She currently has no income coming in and is at risk of losing a lot.The “Little Sky Crab” we all know is always smiling, looking for ways to help others, is a great friend, makes us all laugh, and packs the best darn openings you’ve ever experienced. Because she has helped us land softly on our feet, we want to help her in return. There is a story in the bible, Mark 12:41-44:41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”Basically this story is a tale of giving from the heart. The old widow gave all she had. You see, the amount doesn’t matter, the meaning does. If you’ve ever shared a laugh, a beer, a jump, or a conversation with “lil Nikki”, please show her you care. And please, keep this between us-she has no idea and may very well kill me.
