Paul had an epic mountain bike crash in Restone on Sunday evening and spent the night about 100 yards from his car, in too rough of a shape to move. It wasn't until the next morning that we realized he was missing and some neighbors went out to find him. After being rushed to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, they found bleeding in his brain and sent him via helicopter to St. Mary's in Grand Junction where he was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury along with fractured facial bones. In addition to the hefty costs of the flight and a few days in the ICU, Paul likely faces months of rehab to relearn how to walk and talk properly and will be unable to work for quite some time. This will also help cover living expenses, which include a notoriously high COBRA payment necessary for maintaining his health insurance. Paul is one of the kinder souls I've met who always shows up for the people he loves. Let's show up for him and make this terrible experience just a little bit easier for him.
