My name is Aylin and I will volunteer as a nurse in a local hospital in Tanzania for 3 months. During this time I will be helping on different departments (pediatric, obstetric, ICU) and I will work on the ambulance from time to time. I’m eager to learn from the nurses and doctors in Shirati KMT hospital. As a young kid I was always mesmerized by the selflessness and the goodness of healthcare workers working for Unicef, Doctors Without Borders, etc. Since I received my nursing degree the urge to help these organizations only grew stronger. Because of my current studies I have the ability to follow my minor in Shirati and finally make my healthcare dream come true. Apart from my work as a nurse I want to give my friends, family and loved ones the opportunity to also help out those in need. By raising money i’m hoping to fund the costs of medical supplies (oxygen tanks, IV lines, etc.) in the hospital. The remaining of the money I will donate to projects set up by the hospital (free healthy hospital meals, medication for schistosomiasis).
