Dear family and friends,On October 22, 2015, heaven celebrated the arrival of Pablo Roberto Avilés-Cruz. He suffered an arduous battle with chronic heart and kidney disease for nearly 15 years. Born in Puerto Rico on June 7, 1939, he raised a family of four children with the love of his life, Maria Esther Avilés-Rivera. In 1986, they moved to Tampa, FL to pursue a better opportunity. Pablo was a man known for being loving, compassionate and a dedicated servant of God. His unbreakable faith helped him deal with his illness until his last breath. He adored his family and would have done anything for them. His warm smile and endearing personality would leave a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. Many looked up to him as a father/grandfather figure.Cafe con leche, dominos, wrestling, fishing, do-it-yourself projects and classic cars were just a few of his favorite interests. So long as he's remembered, he'll never truly be gone. With that said, the Avilés family humbly requests that a donation to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tampa, FL be made in lieu of flowers or other gifts. The family will donate 100% of the proceeds to support an area in need within the church. He was passionate about helping others and fulfilling God's purpose, so leaving a lasting legacy of this kind would light up his world. Thanks in advance for your contributions and for allowing his memory to be eternal.Respectfully, Familia Avilés
