Hi, my name is Jenny Donnell. I'm a Type 1 diabetic and 27 weeks pregnant with a precious baby girl. About two weeks ago my glucose levels started getting difficult to control to the point they have put me in diabetic ketoacidosis, causing my baby to go into distress and me into preterm labor. Our family is from Vidalia Ga. I was life flighted to Memorial Hospital in Savannah Ga last Saturday where I received care in the high risk unit. Once our baby and myself were stable and out of danger we were able to go home that following Tuesday. My glucose levels shot up again over the weekend because my insulin just isn't working for some reason. I'm currently back in the Vidalia hospital with diabetic ketoacidosis and preterm labor again. My doctor will be having me transferred to Savannah again. Savannah is about an hour and 45 minutes from home. This has really taken a toll on our financial situation. It's difficult for my husband to go back and forth because of the distance. And he is missing some hours from work due to the entire situation. We don't know how long I will be in the hospital this time. We are raising money for travel, gas, food and medical expenses. We also have to send money home for our two older boys to keep groceries in the house for them while we're away. If you feel lead to bless our family please do. ❤️ And please keep us in your prayers during this stressful time. This too shall pass. UPDATE: We have been home for a few days now. We are trying to get into the swing of things. My care regimen is very strict. I'm on a very strict schedule with insulins and eating. It's very important to stay on schedule. A slight delay can cause another hospital stay. I followed up with my new High Risk OB in Savannah Ga 2days ago. My body was already spilling out ketones again. That's a bad thing. We don't want that. Once the ketones build up that is also another hospital stay and chances of preterm labor again. The goal is to get me to 37 weeks at least. I'm 29 weeks at the moment. We'll be traveling back and forth to Savannah 1-2 times a week until the baby is delivered. And we will be delivering in Savannah where they are equipped to handle Nesza and I if any complications were to arise during labor and birth. We will also both have to be stabilized after delivery and new insulin medications. So we will be in the hospital longer than average after birth. With all this being said it is a struggle on our financial situation and vehicle with all the traveling back and forth. My husband is having to miss 2 days a week from work. That's a lot of missed hours and pay. So we are still accepting donations which will be used for travel, gas, food, and even bills at home since our pay checks are smaller do to work being missed. We really appreciate everyone who has took the time to read about our situation and donate! We thank you all so much for all the support and prayers! ❤️ Please continue to pray with us during this time. And please please Share our LFEBridge. Again any donation big or small is a blessing to our family!! Thank you ❤️
